Lab Safety Courses

July 9, 2020 by John Chivvis Leave a Comment

Please see the message below about general lab safety training from Environmental Health and Safety (EHS).  The current plan is for general lab safety training to be offered online.

An undergraduate or graduate student who would normally be required to take the in-person general lab safety training offered by EHS will be required to complete two online modules:  Introduction to Laboratory Safety Training (Online) – TrainTraq Course #2114106 and Hazard Communication Training (Online) – TrainTraq Course #11020.

From Nancy Eaker, TAMU Environmental Health & Safety

At this time we are not offering any classroom training courses. As an alternative, we have moved our Introduction to Laboratory Safety Training to two online courses: Introduction to Laboratory Safety Training (Online) – TrainTraq Course #2114106 and Hazard Communication Training (Online) – TrainTraq Course #11020. Anyone who would have been required to attend the classroom course will need to take both of these courses, which are linked on our website. If users look for the course on the TrainTraq Course Search page, they will need to select “All” in the TAMUS Member field, as the Hazard Communication course is provided by the System.

Anyone who is not a paid employee of the university can take the course via the External Gateway.

  • URL for the gateway is:  https://traintraq.tamus.edu/External/ExternalGatewayLogon.aspx
  • The current password is:  P@st-miLk%98
  • The next scheduled password change will be Monday, September 7.
